Facebook Permissions that KiboPush Needs
When signing up for KiboPush, you will be prompted to give our app several different Facebook permissions. You may be hesitant to provide these permissions, so this blog is here to inform you how we utilize each of them.
After you have signed up and verified your email, you will be presented with the following screen:
After clicking on ‘Connect’ for Facebook, you will be presented with the following screen:
This screen asks what pages do you allow KiboPush to manage.
The next screen asks what permissions you grant to KiboPush for the pages you selected in the screen above:
Let’s go through each of these permissions one by one:
Manage your ads:
This permission is required to use the Sponsored Broadcast feature. This allows you to create, schedule, and publish Facebook sponsored messages.
Receive your email:
This is a standard Facebook permission. We will not send any emails to this email. This is purely for identifying and validating your facebook account.
Manage your pages:
This is a very crucial permission for KiboPush. This allows KiboPush to perform actions on behalf of the pages you selected on the previous screen. Without this permission, most major features will not work.
Manage and access Page conversations in Messenger:
This allows KiboPush to receive and manage messenger messages for the pages you have selected. The Live chat feature, which is used to chat with your subscribers from within our app, uses this permission to receive and manage messages from subscribers of your pages.
Use a user phone number to send messages from Pages you manage:
This is used for the ‘Invite customers using phone number’ feature. This feature allows you to send an invitation message on Facebook messenger to all the customers listed using their phone numbers. This is an experimental feature that is currently only available in the US.
Send messages from Pages you manage at any time after the first user interaction
This is a very crucial permission that is used by several different features such as broadcasts and autoposting. This allows you to send various types of messages to users after they have messaged your page.
Show a list of pages that you manage
This is used to list down all pages that you manage along with their subscriber counts and invitation urls.
Publish as Pages you manage
This is used to publish Facebook posts as the pages you manage. This is primarily used for the Comment Capture feature, which allows you to create Facebook posts on your managed pages (as the Page) and track and automatically reply to comments on those posts.
To fully harness all of the features in our product, it’s recommended to grant all the permissions. You can also always remove and add permissions later from your Facebook business integration settings. For further information, feel free to contact support@cloudkibo.com.
